Kropyvnytsky City Council deputy Olha Kovalova-Alokili criticized the local council's executive bodies, noting that deputies get more information from journalists than from them.

She wrote about this Facebook page and gave a comment to the IMI representative in Kirovohrad oblast.

According to the deputy, the executive bodies failed to provide comprehensive information regarding the leased plot in the city's Central Square during the October 19 session.

This was needed for the Council to consider of the issue "On the approval of technical papers on land management regarding the inventorying of land plots on Preobrazhenska St. by the LLC Ukrsfera". According to her, the deputies were not aware of the company's debts. It is only thanks to journalists that the deputy received full information about the situation with the tenant.

The information in question has to do with the court case over the rent arrears of the tenant, LLC "Ukrsfera", which jeopardizes the opening of the McDonald's restaurant which is currently being built on this plot. The report on the future trial and the company's debt was released by "Bez Kypur" the other day, noted the IMI representative in Kirovohrad oblast.

In her comment to the IMI representative, the deputy pointed to the effective work of the mass media in uncovering socially important information.

The deputy summed up her Facebook post with words of gratitude to the media: "There is a reason why democracies call the mass media the fourth branch of the government, so I thank Natalya Kryvoshey and other independent journalists for their proactive stance and the information. We are taking this issue under control."
