In Lutsk, a well-known media personality, psychologist and PR specialist, Kateryna Toy, received several phishing messages on Facebook.

She reported this on her page and confirmed it to the regional representative of IMI.

On October 21, the journalist posted a screenshot of a text message from an unknown user saying that her page (on psychology. – Author) allegedly had problems with Facebook requirements.

Kateryna Toy teaches psychology at one of Volyn's universities and runs a psychology blog on social media.

"A few days ago I received a direct message about incorrect information on my psychology page. When I started looking into the person who sent it, the page could not be identified. I had no way to block or flag it. I marked the notification as unread and deleted it," she added.

Maryana Yatsyshyn, a security specialist at the NGO "Digital Security Laboratory", noted in a comment to the IMI representative that these are phishing messaged intended to steal the receiver's password and Facebook access. And the link is a page that looks similar to Facebook.

The journalist said that this is not the first time she has come across such strange messages. "At first, these were links from my friends asking to visit a page where my photos and videos were allegedly posted," said Kateryna Toy.

A few days ago, she received another phishing notification: "Is this you in the movie?"

We remind you that in 2021, unknown persons set fire to the car belonging to Kateryna Toy, who was the director of the Internet media outlet "Insider Media" at that time. She believed the incident had to do with her reporting. As of today, the police have not found the culprits.
